Brisbane's King George Square hosts monthly Games Night

Tanya's picture

We recently became involved in what is set to become a monthly games event. The brainchild of an enthusiastic young lady called Amy, who approached and garnered support from our local council to host the event in the city square. The games night, to be held on the last Thursday of each month, aims to bring Brisbanites together to socialise, communicate, and more importantly, to play games. The first night was a great success. Garry and I lent our games expertise to teach interested players games like Blokus, Carcassonne, and Super Farmer which we then donated to the cause. As well as having a great night , we obviously see this as being some great advertising for our city store. During the evening our local paper, The Courier Mail, followed up with this online post for those of you interested in having a look.  http://player.video.news.com.au/couriermail/#1450663885

If the first nights success is ongoing, we plan to take the idea to the local councils of our other stores.

The next night is scheduled for April 29 at 5pm. So if you are around Brisbane, drop in and see us at King George Square. If the nights success is ongoing, we plan to take the idea to the local councils of our other stores.
