About the Australian Games Association

Tell me about the …

Australian Games Association

The Australian Games Association evolved from a conversation over a ‘drink’ during the Toy Fair in 1998. Why don’t we have an Australian Game Of The Year? … one chosen by the Australian games industry rather than the toy industry. Other countries recognise outstanding games and puzzles with awards. Why not Australia?

Brisbane's King George Square hosts monthly Games Night

We recently became involved in what is set to become a monthly games event. The brainchild of an enthusiastic young lady called Amy, who approached and garnered support from our local council to host the event in the city square. The games night, to be held on the last Thursday of each month, aims to bring Brisbanites together to socialise, communicate, and more importantly, to play games. The first night was a great success.
